Jacky Varela

Meet Your lawyer

Jacky Varela has built her life around one core belief: everyone deserves a voice in the justice system. Shaped by her own challenging teen years, she is committed to standing beside the most vulnerable and fighting for their futures.

She earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas in Multidisciplinary Studies, with a capstone on juveniles facing life without parole, and later graduated from South Texas College of Law Houston in 2017. There, she gained hands-on experience through the human trafficking and child welfare clinics.

Today, Jacky’s practice focuses on juvenile delinquency, criminal defense, child welfare, and family law. What began as a dream to represent children in court has grown into a mission of providing skilled, compassionate representation to anyone facing the courts, regardless of income.

Jacky stays deeply connected to her community through service and teaching. She is active in several professional associations, serves on the board of the Houston Pearls Foundation supporting foster teens, and shares her passion for youth advocacy as an adjunct professor at the University of Houston and through teaching at The Opportunity Center for justice-involved students.

Outside of work, she treasures time with her two sons, daughter-in-law, and grandson, as well as traveling, game nights with friends, and attending social justice events. She believes in balancing hard work with joy, curiosity, and connection—values that guide her life and career.
